Glatfelter’s
Spring Grove, PA and Chillicothe, OH operations are now third party
certified to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody Standard.
What this means to you
FSC Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification provides our customers with third
party verification that Glatfelter products come from sustainable,
non-controversial sources. This means that Glatfelter does not own or accept
wood or fiber from endangered forests, old growth forests, rainforests,
areas in violation of traditional and civil rights, or illegally harvested
or stolen wood. Additionally, forests being converted to plantations or
non-forest use or forests where genetically modified trees are planted are
unacceptable sources of fiber for Glatfelter’s paper making operations.
FSC CoC certification also means that Glatfelter now has the ability to pass
FSC credits through the chain-of-custody process for those customers who
require certified product. For those who do not require certified product,
you can rest assured that the statements above apply to all Glatfelter
products produced in our OH and PA facilities. Product Group Lists required
by the FSC standard are available upon request.

What is FSC®?
The Forest Stewardship
Council (FSC) is an international body founded in 1993, which accredits
certification organizations. The goal of FSC is to promote environmentally
responsible, socially beneficial & economically viable management of the
world's forests, by establishing a worldwide standard of recognized and
respected
Principles of Forest Stewardship.
The Forest Stewardship Council oversees an international
labeling scheme for forest products that provides assurance that products
carrying the FSC logo have been certified as coming from forests in
compliance with the internationally recognized FSC Principles and Criteria
of Forest Stewardship.
