Financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteerism are some of the ways we support nonprofit community organizations. Taking an active role as a community investor extends beyond writing a check. Our approach is to contribute toward sustainable, measurable growth and self-sufficiency for the organizations we support, so the return on our investment continues long after the last dollar is spent.

It takes the entire community and no one person or company has the resources to do it alone. We partner with nonprofit organizations on projects that are focused on key areas where we can have a measurable impact and that reflect our core values.

Glatfelter PEOPLE are encouraged to serve on non-profit boards in all communities, bringing their expertise to help better the communities in which we live and work. Throughout Glatfelter’s respective global manufacturing locations, Glatfelter PEOPLE are engaged in making a difference in their communities through personal philanthropy and volunteerism with local charities.

Corporate charitable contributions and volunteer services promote our business goals, create positive visibility and demonstrate social responsibility. Glatfelter places an emphasis on four primary areas when making charitable contributions: education, arts and culture, civic, and the environment.

Recently our Lydney, UK, facility made a significant contribution to save the local hospital to keep valued services benefitting the broader community. Employees at our various locations around the world volunteer their time to teach students valued skills in finance and economics through programs such as Junior Achievement. These are just a few examples to highlight the commitment and contributions Glatfelter PEOPLE make to their local communities.

Glatfelter supports the communities in which we operate by purchasing goods and services from local businesses and suppliers. In addition, Glatfelter invests millions of dollars each year in local communities through the payment of state and local taxes.
