Financial Analyst

Glatfelter is seeking a Financial Analyst based out of our Charlotte, North Carolina location. This position is responsible for providing support with financial reporting, closing, and forecasting activities with a focus on Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A), and R&D Reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting of SG&A expenses for company Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting.
  • Responsible for monthly cost tracking and controlling.
  • Align with business and functional partners to ensure forecast accuracy and spend visibility. Liaise with Glatfelter’s German subsidiaries to provide accounting support for customer claims.
  • Prepare and distribute management reports with trend and variance analysis.
  • Support accounting and business finance during closing by completing sales and cost of goods sold (COGS) reconciliation, revenue recognition and rebate accrual entries.
  • Collaborate with the Controlling group in performing key close functions, reconciliations and adherences to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • Contribute to the automation and standardization of models by working closely with IT function.
  • Support the building, validation and maintenance of all databases to support transparency of costs and spend trends, including extraction and utilization of data from business analytical tools and ensuring alignment between systems and data users.
  • Create business models with multiple “what if” scenarios.
  • Position may work from home up to 3 days per week, but must live within a commutable distance of employer’s Charlotte, NC headquarters.

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

  • At a minimum, a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or foreign degree equivalent.
  • 1 year’s experience in the job offered or any related occupation.
  • Experience with SOX controls and reporting requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting on revenues and Top Lines, and customer related bookings (customer claims) for German entities.
  • Experience with analysis of Top Line Report, PVM (Price Volume Mix) report, sales indicators, and sales reconciliations between SAP and Stakeholders.
