Marketing Communications Specialist

This position will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for all activities undertaken in support of marketing Glatfelter’s products.  These include the creation of product and promotional literature, advertising, promotional events, and customer communications.  The Marketing Communications Specialist will act as liaison between with the Marketing & Business Development team, sales managers, innovation team, and corporate functions to ensure that the brand image is maintained and that new and existing products are effectively promoted to the market.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and develops the promotional and product support materials to ensure that current and relevant information is available to the sales team, agents and customers
  • Plans and delivers the advertising strategy, together with the VP, Marketing & Business Development, necessary to support the sales and marketing activities of the company. This includes management of 3rd party service providers, e.g. advertising agencies
  • Manages the profile and presentation of the Glatfelter brand (and related sub-segment brands) to be consistent with corporate standards and to develop the profile, awareness and perception of the brand within the markets
  • Plans and implements the promotional activities at trade shows and educational events
  • Maintains the marketing database. This will include contacts, promotional documents, competitor information, trade press and media materials, photo library etc
  • Maintains budgetary control of all promotional and communication activities
  • Plans and implements customer perception surveys
  • Provides general administrative support as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or communications; MBA in Marketing preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing communications role
  • Experience in a publicly traded company strongly preferred
  • Experience creating marketing content and planning trade fairs preferred


  • Ability to communicate fluently and highly effectively in English
  • Demonstrated experience writing for marketing purposes
  • Strong organization skills to arrange fairs and customer events
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Efficient cost management
  • “Hands-on” working approach
