North American Project Leader

As a recognized expert at the company level, the incumbent is responsible for purchasing raw materials, packaging and chemicals from existing suppliers and new suppliers on a local basis and collaborate responsibility for global suppliers. The person will be the contact for all procurement related topics and actions for North America (Gatineau, Fort Smith, Asheville, Old Hickory, Twig & Charlotte HQ).

Under the supervision of the Head of procurement, the main functions will be:


  • Participate in the development of a procurement strategy that optimizes supply chain performance and aligns with all corporate objectives
  • Participate to improve the company’s purchasing process
  • Understand business needs and industry trends, advise and inform the management team. Share knowledge within the supply chain team to maximize business-to-business benefits
  • Develop internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and different department to meet needs
  • To select, develop and negotiate with different potential suppliers of materials / products / services in order to source locally
  • Follow and manage the pricing/handling of floating model/second level buying management
  • Report/procurement analysis
  • Market intelligence for NA; potential alternative
  • Analysis of market related to by products
  • Research and analyze new business opportunities with institutions and experts of the company to build a strong experience-sharing network to foster increased environmental sustainability
  • Participate in some activities related to the Supply Chain department

Competencies, Skills Required

  • University degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong ability to influence and negotiate
  • Critical mind, concerned about costs, deadlines and quality
  • Collaborative spirit and customer service approach
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Great sense of organization
