Product Compliance Engineer
In the US Glatfelter is looking for a Product Compliance Engineer.
This role has the qualifications and business acumen to ensure appropriate vetting of raw materials and provides technical know-how on ensuring new raw materials meet all relevant product compliance requirements. Furthermore he/she gains familiarity with applicable legislation and assists with interpretation of legislation on raw materials and manufactured product compliance requirements including planned new products for all segments to provide key stakeholders with information on meeting supplied product compliance requirements with input from the product compliance manager/product compliance team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with identification of product compliance testing requirements and ensure that appropriate compliance testing is performed in a timely manner to maintain external certification. Collaborate with external laboratories/institutes to that end.
- Address product compliance related customer enquiries and concerns, investigate implications and formulate responses.
- Maintain and use standard compliance responses and draft for issue by others for standard customer enquiries where appropriate.
- Review potential product compliance issues associated with customer enquiries + market issues and be involved in programs to assess how to address and resolve any issues.
- Assisting in maintaining product compliance for all segments in line with legal standards and recommend additional controls necessary to ensure product compliance is addressed effectively under Hazard analysis/product safety systems.
- Ensure good record keeping of work on product compliance and customer responses.
- Administration work and maintain cost overview for certifications, special request from compliance issues,
- Provide support for customer and authority visits as required.
- Jobholder is expected to act on their own initiative and bring forward recommendations/actions in meeting job responsibilities.
Education/Experience:
- Knowledge in Chemistry, non-wovens/paper
- 3-5 years in similar/ related role
- Manufacturing experience
- Technical / chemical/ scientific background and qualifications
- Knowledge of hygiene and food products
