Q3 Entry Level Engineer

Located in Asheville, NC the Entry-Level Engineer must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual who shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player, and have a strong drive to deliver to customers. This person will work under the direction of experienced Engineers to develop and implement process deliverables and designs on technically complex projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical and process engineers. Assignments will vary throughout a two-year development program to include all facets of engineering, maintenance and operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Equipment service associates with technical skills in trouble-shooting equipment issues (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Plan, design, and offer engineering input related to project needs
  • Prepare reports, drawings, testing procedures, and other relevant documents
  • Modify / improve equipment PLC programs to reduce downtime and recovery time
  • Manage projects pertaining to equipment ranging from new installation to modifications of existing assets
  • Update electrical / mechanical drawings as needed for equipment modifications
  • Support investigation of equipment downtime to determine root cause and countermeasure activity needed
  • Develop and implement methods for process efficiency improvement
  • Calculate cost and determine feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Materials Engineering
  • Prior experience in a nonwovens manufacturing environment desirable.

Core Competencies:

  • PLC knowledge, electrical troubleshooting, blue print reading, mechanical skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • AutoCAD Electrical a plus
