Reliability Technician

Located at our Lydney Mill, Glatfelter is seeking a Reliability Technician. This role is responsible for providing preventative and predictive maintenance support to the Mill, ensuring continuous improvement in the standards of engineering, health and safety and environmental performance, such that set business objectives are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Devise, develop and maintain planned preventative maintenance regimes, including predictive inspection and testing schedules for all site assets based on industry best practice.
- Develop knowledge, understanding and application of condition-based maintenance within the engineering team.
- Maintain the predictive maintenance activities for the site assets including but not limited to vibration analysis, thermography, acoustic analysis, and oil analysis, ensuring they are implemented to meet statutory, quality and engineering requirements.
- Run routine and preventative maintenance testing of mill equipment and fire alarm systems.
- Advise corrective actions where necessary and participate in repairs and improvements.
- Develop and train other maintenance personnel in the correct operation of the sprinkler systems and correct start up and shutdown procedures.
- Engage in the development and failure reduction activities, driving route cause, and FMEA problem solving.
- Conduct thorough and conscientious reporting of site asset health and plant breakdowns and history, ensuring statutory obligations are fulfilled.
Education & Experience:
- Candidates should possess a formal technical qualification in an engineering craft i.e. NVQ Level 3 / C&G Level 3 Mechanical\Electrical or equivalent
- General knowledge of industrial plant and process equipment is essential
- A good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the application of continuous process environment
- Must be computer literate with practical experience of CMMS systems
Key Competencies:
- The job holder will have a sound knowledge of good maintenance practices and reliability principles
- The candidate must keep up to date on technical developments to ensure improvements to both engineering and operational performance. This is against a background of continual pressure to satisfy and improve production requirements all of which could lead to out of hours working
- The post holder should have good analytical skills and the ability to assimilate, organise and analyse pertinent information for logic-based problem solving
- Must be able to communicate in clear concise manner, both in writing and orally.
- Must be a team worker, with a flexible approach to work
