Short Haul Driver

Located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, this position will be responsible for transporting material loads between manufacturing plant to warehouses operating a tractor trailer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Team player – give and receive feedback
• Performs all tasks in a safe manner, complies with all safety rules including ZES and confined spaced entry.
• Identifies and reports unsafe operations to the supervisor immediately.
• Follows all company policies.
• Communicates with operations when releasing finished product and preparing transfer to various locations.
• Transfers loads to proper warehouse according to material ship to destination
• Inspects tractor trailer for defects before, during and after trips with the driver inspection report.
• Submits report indicating tractor trailer conditions.
• Maintains driver record of duty log according to hours-of-service regulations.
• Works under limited supervision to perform and complete the assigned duties in timely manner.
• Operates with a stable and secured load.
• Notifies supervision of any safety issues.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the tractors
• Attends all training classes that are scheduled for the short haul/delivery driver team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills:

• Class A candidates must have a minimum of 1 year experience driving a tractor trailer truck.
• Must have obtained a CDL from a qualified training school
• Driving record must meeting the company qualification standards
• Comply with all at hire, random and post-accident regulated substance abuse testing requirements
• Meet the driver qualification requirements as required by FMCSA or state statue
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
